Logix Corp, a logistics company operating across 5 countries with 2,000+ employees, was running three separate legacy systems for HR, finance, and inventory. Data silos created inefficiencies, reporting was a nightmare, and each system required specialized maintenance.
They needed a unified ERP platform that could consolidate all operations while respecting local regulatory requirements in each country. The tight 6-month deadline added significant pressure to the project.
Each legacy system had years of business logic embedded in it, much of it undocumented. Migrating data while maintaining business continuity required careful planning and execution.
Different countries had different payroll regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards. The new system needed to handle multi-currency transactions, local compliance, and unified global reporting simultaneously.
We selected Odoo as the base platform for its modular architecture and strong localization support. Custom modules were developed to handle Logix Corp's specific logistics workflows, including fleet management, route optimization, and warehouse operations.
A phased migration strategy ensured business continuity. We built data transformation pipelines that cleaned, normalized, and migrated records from all three legacy systems into the new unified database.
The rollout followed a country-by-country approach, starting with the headquarters. Each deployment included local customization, user training, and a parallel running period before full cutover.
Docker containers enabled consistent deployments across all regions, while PostgreSQL's geographic replication ensured data availability and disaster recovery. REST APIs connected the ERP with existing third-party systems that remained in use.
All 5 countries were fully migrated within the 6-month timeline. Three legacy systems were decommissioned, reducing annual IT maintenance costs by 40%.
Unified reporting now provides real-time visibility across all operations. Month-end close processes that previously took 2 weeks now complete in 3 days. Employee productivity improved by 25% due to streamlined workflows.
